Who we are
Founded in 2001 by Shri. Nataraj, a small farmer from a backward community in Mulbagal Block, Kolar District, Karnataka, south India, JMSSS emerged from his lifelong commitment to community development. Rooted in firsthand experience with rural socio-economic challenges, the organization has grown into a leading force for grassroots empowerment across Karnataka.
Our Impact
- Women & Youth Development: Started with 50 groups, JMSSS has now facilitated 15,000 women’s self-help groups (SHGs), 400 youth groups, and 120 farmer groups across 30 districts.
- Geographical Reach: Active in 350 villages, prioritizing marginalized communities in rainfed agricultural regions with high poverty, unemployment, and low literacy rates.
- Microfinance Excellence: Ranked among the top five micro-credit institutions in Karnataka, with a 99.9% repayment rate and strong financial sustainability.
Institutional Strength & Governance
With its headquarters in Bangalore and 12 regional offices, JMSSS operates efficiently through a networked system. It employs experienced professionals in banking, development, and gender justice, supported by robust financial policies, advanced MIS software, and real-time project monitoring.

Broader Development Initiatives
JMSSS is actively engaged in women and youth development. Inclusive and economic development, youth skill development and sustainable agriculture are the major programmes of JMSSS. The organization collaborates with other NGOs, banks and government institutions.

Handling an annual turnover of Rs.9000 million, JMSSS upholds the highest ethical standards, with a dedicated team of Chartered Accountants ensuring accountability and financial transparency.
